If it had just been the zeds, we would have been fine.
If it had just been a bunch of boot-sucking ravagers, that would have been okay, too.

And with that, we are introduced to Meg, the newest and youngest protagonist in the Quincy Harker, Demon Hunter Universe. Meg lives in a desolate world, scrabbling out a rough-hewn existence trying to make it without running afoul of the zeds or the cannibal ravagers that roam the countryside looking for tasty morsels like her.

Sanctuary is a short story set in a post-apocalyptic Quincy Harker universe, and was originally published in My Batteries Are Low and It Is Getting Dark by Zombies Need Brains.
